“SoShowMe” – From Social Sharing to a Fine Art gallery
This October, theprintspace and Lowepro once again bring online photo sharing back into the real world. At a time when the future of photography remains hotly debated in the art world, SoShowMe gives artists a unique chance to see their art go from the pages of Facebook straight to the walls of an East London gallery.
SoShowMe spans genres including Street Photography, Fashion and Architecture, reflecting monthly themed photo contests sponsored by the UK’s leading camera bag manufacturer Lowepro. Amongst it’s exhibitors lies the work of artists such as Tom Lakeman with his immaculate still life work, Ryan Bleyswck’s gritty street photography, and the dance portraiture of Kaja Gwincinska. This year, as well as exhibiting the overall winners, every single entry received will be displayed in miniature with over 2000 images on show!
Now in it’s fourth year, SoShowMe continues to offer a springboard for artists to launch their photography from social sharing to the international art scene. Judges this year have included internationally renowned photographers Miss Aniela and Benjamin Von Wong as well as Amateur Photographer Magazine editor Damien Demolder.
SoShowMe opens at theprintspace gallery at 74 Kingsland Road on Thursday, 3rd of October from 7pm-10pm with drinks provided and prize giveaway of a Lowepro Transit Sling camera bag. The exhibition then continues from 4th to 22nd October, Monday-Friday 9am-7pm. Admission free.
