Sandra is distinctly African looking. Her parents, Abraham and Sannie, are white Afrikaners, unaware of their black ancestry. Sandra’s story takes place during the apartheid era where she is constantly met with racism, exclusion and the forced choice to choose between her identity as a black woman and as a white woman.
