Hamleys are throwing a party to celebrate the store launch of Market Meltdown, Clarendon Games’ smash hit financial trading board game for children aged 9 - 13. The event will take place in Hamleys, Piccadilly, on 20th October from 10am – 12 noon. Lots of really fun activities and games have been planned to mark the occasion and there will be complimentary refreshments on offer.

Market Meltdown is a fast-moving financial trading board game where you could make billions of pounds as the market melts down around you! A game only for those with nerves of steel – are you slick and ruthless enough to resist the widespread panic and make a fortune? Players take on the role of traders betting hundreds of millions on behalf of the bank. Just like with investing in the real stock market, you can win and lose big. The last player to remain afloat is the winner!

Come down to the event to play the role of a financial trader betting billions on the stock market. By keeping a cool head you could make a fortune as the market melts down around you! There will be many sets of Market Meltdown to play and you will even be able to test your trading skills against the game’s designers.

You will have the opportunity to take part in an extremely engaging and entertaining Circus Skills Workshop in the store! If you have ever wanted either to learn a circus skill or simply to have a go then this is the workshop for you. With skills ranging from Hula Hoop to juggling, plate-spinning to Poi, our circus professionals will teach you everything you need to know!

There will be many other activities to keep youngsters entertained, including piñatas to wack, and party bags full of goodies and balloons to take home.

The Daily Mail called Market Meltdown “this year’s must-have game” while The Week hailed it “the hit board game of the season”.
