UP THE ARTS COMEDY celebrates its move to The Queen Boadicea 292-294 St John Street, Clerkenwell EC1V 4PA with the launch of its summer season of Edinburgh Previews. On Thursdays, throughout May/June/July we’re presenting 14 shows over 7 nights from some of the best award-winning comedians in the UK.

RICHARD HERRING
After establishing himself alongside Stewart Lee in the prolific comedy duo, Lee & Herring, Richard enjoyed phenomenal cult success as a writer and performer. His one-man shows include Talking Cock and F**k, I’m 40. With Al Murray, Richard devised and wrote 37 episodes of the sitcom Time Gentlemen Please (Sky One/Paramount) for Al’s alter ego The Pub Landlord.
"Herring is a superior comedian… hilarious.” THE GUARDIAN

SHAZIA MIRZA
Shazia began stand up comedy in September 2000 and won Hackney Empire Best New Act competition a year later. Her distinctive act combines a deadpan delivery with observation on her world. Shazia is in certain respects a revolutionary figure being the UK’s only female Muslim stand up. A Radio and TV regular on such shows as ‘Have I Got News For You’, Joan Bakewell’s ‘Taboo’, Richard & Judy, BBC 2’s First Sight and her latest BBC show on feminine hair in addition to performing in The Vagina Monologues.
