There's Something About Slim

Start getting used to Danny “Slim” Gray…The South Londoner’s name is one that will soon be on everybody’s lips as this hugely entertaining comedian takes to the stage to deliver his first one man show. No stranger to the lights and the audience, Slim has been on the scene for years, quietly bubbling, garnering more and more praise from those that have seen this young man’s ability to capture unique aspects of life and twist it into his own brand of comedy: a style of humour that transcends boundaries of age, race and gender to have you cracking up in your seat.

From his 1993 debut at the Hackney Empire to a packed out audience, Slim’s repertoire has taken him around the world, booked by promoters in Holland, Germany, Belgium and more recently Jamaica where he performed at the Annual Red Stripe Comedy Tour - the only Brit amongst a line up of Def Comedy Jam comics. On the comedy circuit Slim has already supported acts such as Mark Curry of ‘Hanging With Mr Cooper’ fame, Kevin Hart (‘Soul Plane’), John Witherspoon (star of ‘Friday’ and ‘Boomerang’), Felix Dexter (‘Absolutely Fabulous’), Bill Bellemy and Robbie Gee (star of Guy Ritchie’s ‘Snatch’).

Having built up a solid reputation as one of the UK’s top comics, Slim is not resting on his laurels. He is intent on venturing into theatre and film production as well as conquering the US, starting with a spot at LA’s Comedy Store.

Born in Lewisham, he returns to local turf and the home of black comedy in South London, the Broadway Theatre, Catford. Support comes from larger than life comedienne, Glenda Jaxson – an extremely gifted black entertainer who is no stranger to TV or to treading the boards of London’s prestigious comedy theatres. Glenda was presented the Black Entertainment Comedy Award 2004 for Best Female Comedienne.
