UP THE ARTS COMEDY CLUB,
BAR TILL MIDNIGHT. WIN FREE WINE!

REMEMBER, REMEMBER, THE FOURTH OF NOVEMBER! The night before and Guy Fawkes contemplates how to end his video to the Al jazeera news network. He probably could have done with a laugh but our club didn’t exist then – even if some of the jokes heard on our stage did. So get in touch with your anarchist side and catch this hot line-up.
“…audiences go away with a memorable and entertaining experience they couldn’t have got elsewhere.” - TIME OUT.

MANDY MUDEN
"Hi, I'm Mandy - and I do tricks!" Mandy is the only woman ever to combine comedy and magic on the UK comedy circuits. She’s one of a handful of female professional magicians and member of the Magic Circle – which she describes as, “Like the Women’s Institute, but bitchier.” She talked openly about why there are so few women with wands in her Edinburgh Festival 2004 show Burn the Witch. Witchcraft can be traced back in her London family to the 17th century, so now prefers the company of comedians, performing all over the world. She has a striking personality, a sharp wit and fantastic audience rapport. TV: Faking It C4, Astounding Celebrities ITV1, Worlds Greatest Magic C4
“Imagine a sexy Tommy Copper minus the Fez.” Evening Standard, Hot Tickets
“Mandy is going to be huge.” Billy Connolly, Comedy Store, January 2003

SOL BERNSTEIN
Sol escaped the Pogroms in Russia, the Nazis in Germany and Mosley’s blackshirts in London. The world's 1st all-round entertainer, a song and dance man, a comedian, a magician, an actor, an amazing ventriloquist (with his suitcase friend Mr Pinkus) a Jazz musician (rated as the BEST TRIANGLE player by Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington ). He's performed at The London Palladium, New York's Carnegie Hall, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, and The Scunthorpe Baths. His charisma, his walking stick, his catch phrase "why don't you put on a tie" his chutzpah, put it all together and you see the magic that is Sol Bernstein. Most young performers will mention Sol B as a major influence. A major influence to do what, we aren't sure, but an influence never the less!
"One part Alf Garnett, two parts Mel Brooks... a great new comic creation in the making" The Guardian
"An instantly winning creation" The Independent

Plus LEE NELSON, DIZZY HIGH, THICK RICHARD, VERITY WELCH STEPHEN HALL and MITCHELL ANDERSON comperes. Also Punch line Competition and Cheapo Wine Challenge - win two bottles of wine. Tickets are available on the door.
